The Lost Breed

An archaeologist’s dig site is raided, his crew murdered. His discovery, a fossilized human skeleton with a tail, stolen. And now the same people are out to silence him. In primeval times tailed humans live in harmony with God. Then tragedy strikes, a forbidden fruit is eaten, a child is born. He is not like the other humans. He is tailless. God’s voice, silent to him. He ushers in a new breed of man, bigger, stronger, and… evil. What if the stories of our past were only half true? Would you still have faith? Is God’s truth found in words alone, or is it deeper, in a language written on our hearts?

LIFE  by: Shawn Murphy

On the edge of the world, survival has a price. On Moon Night, it has a name. Your Soul.

For generations, the people of a decaying provincial town have lived by a single, brutal law: when the moon is full, the doors must be barred. To be caught outside is to face the Beast—an ancient, pale-skinned predator that does not crave flesh or blood, but the very essence of the human spirit. Young William knows the stories all too well, carrying the silent trauma of his mother's death at the hands of the monster. But when a moment of compassion for a stray cat lures him into the woods on the forbidden night, it draws him into the snare of the great beast. When the beast, Arrogan captures William, the creature's bite releases a blinding, celestial light that erupts from the boy. The radiant display acts as a beacon across the wilderness, summoning two additional horrors, the scavenger Odis, and the towering, brutal Bellugar. Now, the village is no longer just a hunting ground; it is a cage. Trapped in a psychological chess match within the town's Great Hall, William must strike a desperate bargain with the three monsters to save his town. William must discover if his light is a gift to be cherished—or a weapon meant to burn the darkness away forever. Life is a haunting dark fable that explores the thin line between survival and sacrifice, and the terrifying beauty of the human spirit.
